In Rwanda, R4S is engaged in one activity – evaluation of YLabs’ CyberRwanda at youth centers. This activity is one of many included in R4S’ Digital Portfolio.
Digital Portfolio
This portfolio of activities under R4S seeks to generate and apply evidence about how digital technologies can support FP self-care by increasing knowledge, self-efficacy, and/or FP uptake and continuation in the context of informed choice. The focus is on digital FP self-care platforms that offer a constellation of options including information, decision-making tools and links to services, with the goal of understanding how these three dimensions can be optimized to improve the users’ experience.
In 2021, R4S joined forces with YLabs to assess the impact of their digital health platform, CyberRwanda on adolescent reproductive health knowledge and decision making. CyberRwanda supports self-care in FP, providing information, support and direct links to local service providers and FP products. YLabs had started evaluating impact of the same digital platform in school settings in Rwanda, and R4S offered the opportunity to conduct another study on effectiveness of CyberRwanda in a youth center setting. Results have been shared with Rwandan stakeholders of the baseline study findings in July 2022, and the final results in August 2023.
